Mistresses, pets and quirky relationships

Friday, June 25th, 2010

Every day we’re inundated with requests from newspapers and magazines, which can earn high cash rewards.  They can also give you the satisfaction of seeing your story in print.

It’s one thing thinking “Can I sell my story?” It’s quite another actually getting it done. And that’s where we are here to help.  You can email us at info@sellthatstory.com

At the moment we have newspapers and magazines offering high prices for:

* A mistress who can talk about her affair with a married man. Perhaps the relationship ended badly, or he wasn’t the man you thought he was, or perhaps he had a high profile – always popular with magazines – and wouldn’t take the risk.  Mistresses are always seen as the “other woman” but you can tell your side of the story and earn money for your time, as well as getting satisfaction that you can put out your version of the truth.

* Did you meet your partner under unusual, funny, quirky or positively strange circumstances? Then let us know.  Don’t just wonder “Could I sell my story?” Let us do it for you.

* Do you have daft stories about your pets? The papers love them, and they are a fun way to make money.

* Amid the doom and gloom of the recession, the papers are all keen to hear happy, funny heart-warming tales. So if you have one and are thinking “Could I sell my story?” then get in touch and we’ll do it for you!

True love for Edith, 84, and Joseph, 92

Sunday, February 14th, 2010

goldenoldies0001Here’s a heart-warmer for Valentine’s Day, courtesy of SellThatStory. It’s in today’s Sunday People, in their Take It Easy magazine.

Joseph Gadion, 92, was the “Casanova” of the day centre for the elderly in Manchester. It was Edith Black, 84, who caught his eye.

He’d been married before, for 59 years, and she for 50, but they were both happy to prove age was no barrier for their love.

Lottie, the amazing TV extra, aged 98

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

lottieblogShe’s Britain’s oldest TV extra, at the amazing age of 98.

This was our favourite story of the week at SellThatStory.  Lottie Goodwin started her professional acting career on Emmerdale when she started drawing her pension, and she’s still going strong 38 years later.

It was a delight talking to Lottie at her home in Altrincham, Cheshire.  She really is incredible for her age and it is honestly no surprise that people think she’s in her 70s.

Read our story about Lottie in the Manchester Evening News or in the Daily Mirror.

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

myleene-klassDid you read about Myleene Kass being reprimanded by police for waving a knife at an intruder ?

A weekly women’s magazine wants to hear from a have-a-go hero – though it must be a woman –  who was subsequently cautioned by the police because of their actions, as long as they acted reasonably and not too aggressively.

Looking after brothers and sisters?

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

mum-holding-baby-handSeems the snow doesn’t slow down newspapers and magazines when it comes to looking for people to interview and stories to cover.

* A Sunday supplement is searching for a young woman who is now caring for her siblings after her parents have died or are otherwise unable to look after them. She must have been granted custody of her siblings and allow them to be named and pictured. Ideally aged 18-25.

* A weekly woman’s magazine is working on a feature about obesity and how the problem is spreading into funerals. Bigger coffins / larger burial plots etc. They want to hear from anybody who has buried an overweight relative whose size affected their funeral. They would also like to speak to anyone who is severely overweight and worried about the problems their size could cause to a funeral and the affect this could have on their family.

* And finally, as Valentine’s Day approaches, do you have a heart-warming romantic proposal to tell us about ? If so, let us know!

LA Times on Angela’s ID card

Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009

Angela Epstein with her ID cardANGELA may have been the first and only one in the queue for an ID card.

But her persistence has attracted interest from no less than the Los Angeles Times, who were intrigued by her zeal.

“I’m really proud to have one,” said Epstein, 42, a lifelong resident of this northern city (that’s Manchetser!). “It says I’m a British citizen. . . . Anything that has that on it is a source of pride to me.”

Agree or disagree, it’s well worth a read.

And if you’re one of the tiny group who has an ID card – and who has had any kind of a bad experience with it – we’d love to hear from you.

If the question’s “How do I sell my story?” then the answer’s just a click away.
